Electro-mechanical and mechatronics engineering technologists and technicians regularly test the performance of electromechanical assemblies with proper test instruments and read and interpret prints/schematics to determine assembly details. They also conduct inspections for defects, install parts and hardware in electrical assemblies, and verify part dimensions to ensure conformance to specifications.

  • Test performance of electromechanical assemblies using test instruments such as oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly
  • Inspect parts for surface defects
  • Install electrical or electronic parts and hardware using soldering equipment and hand tools
  • Verify dimensions for conformance to specifications using precision measuring tools
